Missouri Adventure Trips was created to help people experience the best of Missouri’s great outdoors. From the quiet beauty of the Katy Trail to the towering bluffs and clear, free-flowing waters of the Buffalo National River, our trips are designed to get people outside, moving, exploring, and reconnecting with the natural world.
We keep our groups small and our itineraries intentional, blending comfort with challenge and creating space for people to breathe, unplug, and enjoy the landscapes that make Missouri such an extraordinary place to adventure. Every mile, paddle stroke, and trail segment is supported by a team that handles the logistics so you can be fully present in nature.
Our Story
Missouri Adventure Trips was founded by Dan and Emily Weida, the husband-and-wife team behind Colorado Mountain Expeditions (CME). After years of guiding and designing outdoor adventures in the Rocky Mountains, Dan and Emily wanted to bring the same high-quality, community-focused approach back to the places that shaped them.
Both are from Missouri — Emily from Belton and Dan from Peculiar — and they met while studying Recreation Management at Missouri State University. Their shared background in outdoor leadership and their deep personal connection to Missouri’s landscapes made the next step clear: create a sister organization to CME that celebrates the natural beauty of their home state.
Inspired by the Katy Trail’s iconic cross-state route and the wild, Dan and Emily set out to build trips that help people experience these places in meaningful, approachable, and unforgettable ways.
Our Focus
Katy Trail Bicycling: Fully supported group rides that showcase the river valleys, historic towns, and gentle miles of the nation’s longest developed rail-trail.
Buffalo National River Adventures: Immersive outdoor trips that explore the bluffs, quiet bends, hiking paths, and crystal-clear waters of America’s first national river.
Whether pedaling through farmland and forest or drifting under towering sandstone cliffs, our goal is simple: get people outside and help them connect with Missouri’s most remarkable natural spaces.
What We Believe
Time in nature changes people for the better.
Outdoor adventure should be welcoming and accessible to everyone.
Small groups build genuine community.
Respect for the land guides everything we do.
Great trips don’t just show you a place — they connect you to it
Join us on the trail or on the river. Missouri’s outdoors are waiting, and we’re excited to share them with you.
